Man arrested on drug charges

SEBRING -A Sebring man already on community control for dealing in stolen property is facing more charges after deputies searched his home, according to a report released Monday.

Aaron Anthony Smith, 21, 2104 Vantage Trace, Sebring, was arrested March 23 by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug equipment.

The arrest came after deputies searched his residence and found a bag with suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, including rolling papers, and marijuana, the report said.

Traffic stop leads to marijuana arrest

AVON PARK - A Lake Placid man ended up being arrested on more serious charges after initially being stopped after deputy saw him fail to move over for an emergency vehicle, according to a report released Monday.

Rontrell Travon Strickland, 21, 223 Heppner Ave., Lake Placid, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver and three counts of possession of drug equipment.

Inside the vehicle, deputies found several bags of marijuana and a scale, the report said.
