Men accused of theft
SEBRING - Two Tampa men accused of theft apparently should have known that they had to secure a load on a pickup truck, according to a report released Tuesday.
Kary Lenard Stevenson, 40, and Rodney Craig Williams, 35, both of 8323 N. Orange View Drive, Tampa, were arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with trespass and third-degree grand theft.
The arrests came after deputies stopped their vehicle because it had an unsecured load of aluminum walking ramps and hand rails, the report says.
After they noticed that one ramp had the name "Sebring Middle," further investigation showed the load belonged to the Highlands County Sheriff's Office, the report adds.
