Call leads to three roommates being arrested

LAKE PLACID - The relationship between some roommates may never be the same after Highlands County deputies investigated a series of complaints.

A call to their residence led to all three roommates being arrested on various charges, according to a report released this week.

David Sanchez Lopez, 31, 118 Flagler St., Lake Place, was arrested Feb. 19 by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Antonio Alfaro Sanchez, 33, 118 Flagler St., Lake Placid, was arrested Feb. 19 and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and battery. Jacob Eblin Calix-Hernandez, 24, 118 Flagler St., Lake Placid, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief.

The arrests came after a third roommate called authorities and reported that during an argument Sanchez attempted to stab him. He also reported that Lopez punched him. Calix-Hernandez was accused of breaking the windows of a roommate's car.

Fingerprints lead to man's arrest

LAKE PLACID - A suspected burglar apparently did not wear gloves, as fingerprints led to his arrest, according to a report released this week.

Darrell Lettle Goldsmith, 45, 108 Washington St., Lake Placid, was arrested on a warrant and charged with burglary of a conveyance and petit theft.

A property owner reported in November that someone entered his vehicle and stole a plastic container, trailer hitch and a box, the report said.

Fingerprints on the truck led to the arrest, the report said.
