Man arrested on drug charge

SEBRING - A Sebring man was arrested after being accused of facilitating a drug deal, according to a report released Thursday.

Marvis Treyvon Dewberry, 39, 4812 High Ave., Sebring, was arrested March 22 by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church.

Authorities alleged that Dewberry approached a driver and accepted $20 for the purchase of cocaine. Another man actually delivered the cocaine at the passenger side of the car, the report said.

Man found with drugs after traffic stop

LAKE PLACID - When a man was stopped by a deputy on a traffic stop, he apparently realized that officers knew he was buying drugs at a residence, according to a report released this week.

"You know what they (the people at the residence) do," he told deputies, the report said.

Clay Tope, 55, 224 Lake June Road, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with purchase of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of cocaine and possession of drug equipment.

Deputies saw Tope leave a residence suspected of being a drug house and stopped him after he was seen failing to stop at a stop sign, the report said.

In his car they found marijuana, cocaine and morphine, the report said.
