Man accused of abusing juvenile

SEBRING - A 49-year-old man already on probation for vehicular manslaughter was arrested Wednesday after being accused of inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl, according to a report released Thursday.

Apolinar Perez, 49, no address given, was arrested and charged with lewd/lascivious behavior and violation of probation.

The investigation leading to his arrest began after the 15-year-old victim disclosed as part of a school assignment allegations that Perez had sexually abused her on multiple occasions during a four to five year period, the report said.

Perez denied the allegations, the report said.

Man charged with burglary, theft

SEBRING - A Sebring man was arrested Wednesday on a warrant after being accused in July of stealing scrap metal from a local business, according to a report released Thursday.

Juan Alberto Camacho Rodriguez, 45, 621 Lime St., Sebring, was arrested and charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure and petit theft.

An off-duty employee at Yarbrough Tire had reported that he saw a man matching Rodriguez's description stealing scrap metal in July, the report said.

Rodriguez insisted he was only in the area visiting friends and that the employee was mistaken, the report said.
