Woman accused of hitting man with pool cue
SEBRING - A woman was arrested Sept. 3 after being accused of using a pool cue for something other than a game of pool, according to a report released Tuesday.
Jessica Joann Jeffers, 23, 5904 Thunder Road, Sebring, was arrested Sept. 3 by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The arrest came after a man accused Jeffers of hitting him in the face with a pool cue.
Jeffers, in turn, accused the man of grabbing her by the throat and throwing her to the ground, the report said.
Although Jeffers had marks on her throat, the report gave no indication that the man was arrested.
Man accused of possessing drugs
AVON PARK - A man was arrested on a warrant several months after authorities said he left a drug pipe in plain view during an inspection of his residence.
Carlos Enrique Martinez, 46, 2402 Golden Villas, Avon Park, was arrested Sept. 3 and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug equipment.
The arrest came after a Florida Department of Children and Family Services case worker asked to view living conditions in the home and spotted a pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine in the children's bedroom, the report said.
Martinez claimed the pipe belonged to a friend, the report said.
