Man arrested on drug charges
SEBRING - A man was arrested April 21 after apparently consuming more than just food at a restaurant, according to an arrest report released Thursday.
Steven James Doyle, 36, no address provided, was arrested Aug. 21 by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with two counts possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug equipment.
The arrest came after an employee found the man lying on the floor of the restroom with a syringe next to him, the report said.
Although the man left before a deputy arrived, the deputy found a man with the same description and determined he possessed alprazolam and heroin.
Burglary suspect arrested
AVON PARK - One of two suspects in a string of burglaries earlier this year in Highlands County has been arrested.
Christopher James Hillier, 18, 3221 Jacklin Ave., Sebring, was arrested this week by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with criminal mischief, burglary, third-degree grand theft and grand theft of a firearm.
Following the burglaries, some of the stolen property was discovered at the Econo Lodge, the report said.
The investigation led to identification of two suspects, one of them being Hillier, the report said.
At some point, Hillier and the other suspect were arrested on unrelated charges, the report said, adding that items stolen during the burglaries were found in their car.
