Woman arrested on theft, drug charges

SEBRING - A woman was arrested after authorities found drugs and guns in her bedroom, according to a report released Monday.

Britani Margarite Stephenson, 27, 240 Quail Ave., Sebring, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon, third-degree grand theft, dealing in stolen property, dealing in stolen property via the internet, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest came after authorities received information that items stolen from a house in Sebring were at 240 Quail Ave., the report said.

Deputies found that stolen property in Stephenson's bedroom, the report said.

Woman arrested on drug charges

SEBRING - A Sebring woman was arrested after authorities executed a search warrant at her residence and found drugs, according to a report released Monday.

Linda Denise Kooi, 52, 132 Cody Way, Sebring, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An arrest report said deputies found the drugs in plain view.

Kooi said someone planted the cocaine on her when she was riding a train, the report said.

Woman arrested on theft charges

SEBRING - A woman was arrested after it was discovered that she had pawned earrings belonging to another woman, an arrest report released Monday said.

Laura Beth Wack, 23, 2309 Andalusa St., Sebring, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with giving false information to a pawnshop owner and dealing in stolen property.

The owner of the earrings declined to prosecute for the theft itself, saying that Wack is like family, an arrest report said.
