County plans hurricane seminar

— Highlands County will host its 2014 Hurricane Seminar at 10 a.m. May 31 at the Bert J. Harris Jr. Agri-Civic Center, 4509 George Blvd.

You will learn about the different levels and meanings of warnings, where emergency shelters are located, where water, food and ice will be available, items needed for your supply kit, where to find emergence information and much more.

Hurricane season starts June 1. For information, call Highlands County Emergency Management at 385-1112.
