Chair painting fundraiser raises $1,800

Published:

— Highlands Art League hosted a Chair Painting Fundraiser Aug. 23 to help decorate HAL class chairs and provide recognition for HAL supporters.

It raised $1,800 to help further the organization’s mission to encourage emerging and evolving artists of all ages and to positively impact our community through the celebration and exploration of the arts.

Eighteen local businesses and individuals supported HAL by purchasing chairs that will provide recognition and promotion inside a HAL classroom. These chairs are a great advertisement, as more than 1,000 people attend HAL’s Art Uncorked classes each year.

Chair painting supporters included: Marmer Construction, Chicanes, Florida Hospital, Sweet Frogs, Prescott Lawn and Pest Control, Southwood Garage Doors, Dawn Dell Realty, Kathy’s Consignment, News-Sun, Central Security and Electronic Inc., Emme’s Crazy Creations, Palms of Sebring, Customized Wellness, the Shoop family, Lynda Owen Smith, Kristy Harris and Dorothy Combs.

HAL thanks artists Linda Kegley, Tori Roman and Kristy Harris, as well as HAL Board Members Marcia Davis, Kristin Handley and Julia Mercer for assisting with the chair painting. Special appreciation to Merideth Wohl for coordinating the event.
