Bicycle operator injured after hitting vehicle

Published:

— A bicyclist was injured while he was making a left turn and hit a vehicle, in the next left-turn lane, which also was turning left, according to a Sebring Police Department accident report released Monday.

Efforts to find out the condition of Fred Mitchell, 63, 3919 Leaf Road, Sebring, who was taken to Highlands Regional Medical Center, were unsuccessful.

Mitchell told investigators he put his hand out signaling he was turning left, apparently onto Hiawatha Avenue.

But the driver of the vehicle, Alfred Tom Harrison Clark, 73, 2912 Hammock Drive, said he didn’t see the signal.
