AVON PARK A free car wash could prove costly to an Avon Park woman.

Angel Lopez Diego, 32, 604 Eddie Cannon St., Avon Park, was arrested Feb. 27 by the Highland County Sheriff's Office and charged with third-degree grand theft, criminal use of personal identification and credit card fraud.

The warrant arrest occurred several months after a woman reported that someone had entered the back of her residence on Nov. 15, 2012, and stole a computer, an iPod and a debit card, a report said.

A surveillance camera at a car wash in Sebring showed a woman, later identified as Diego, pay for a car wash with the debit card, the warrant said.

The investigation also showed the card was used fraudulently to pay for a movie and get $200 cash, the warrant said.

Diego was released on $3,000 bond.
