Armed robbery hits another Avon Park convenience store

AVON PARK-Authorities are looking for two black males they say robbed the Hilltop Shell Foodmart, 400 E. Main St., Avon Park, at about midnight. Highlands County Sheriff's Office Central Dispatch received a 911 hang-up call from the store, states a news release.

When deputies responded they discovered an armed robbery had occurred. Store workers indicated two black males robbed the clerk at gunpoint and took an undisclosed amount of cash and some merchandise from the store, the news release adds.

This case is under investigation.
