—Two accidents on U.S. 27 by Sebring Walmart closed down the road for more than an hour Tuesday afternoon.

In the first accident, a motorcyclist, James Giles, hit a Pontiac Grand Prix, which was turning left across southbound U.S. 27 onto Grand Prix Drive to go to Walmart, said Sebring Police Department’s Sgt. Curtis Hart.

The driver of the Grand Prix, Mercedes Muniz, 23, reportedly did not see the southbound bike, which hit the side of the car, Hart said. She was cited for violation of right of way, he added.

Giles, who had serious injuries, was taken by Aeromed to an area hospital, authorities add.

The second accident, which was reportedly next to the first one, happened as the result of drivers slowing down because of the first accident, authorities add.
