SEBRING - Last week's showdown for the Sebring Blue Streak youth football program against the Avon Park Red Devils was less than stellar as they lost three of four games. They got back on track on Saturday as they soundly thrashed the DeSoto Bulldogs in all four games played.
The Sebring Flag team set the attitude for the day as they beat the Bulldogs 25-13. D'Aundrel Perry led the offense for the Blue Streaks with a 100 yards rushing and touchdown runs of 35 and 50 yards.
Dejuan Austin also had a 100 yards rushing and a touchdown run of 45 yards. Caterrius Stokes rushed for 90 yards and scored on 55-yard touchdown run to round out the scoring for the Blue Streaks.
On defense, Brock Riley and Wyatt Gilbert led the team with six tackles each.
In the second game of the day, the Sebring Mitey Mites remained undefeated on the season with a 32-0 pounding of a short-handed DeSoto team that only had 8 players. Sebring had the option to still play with 11, but decided to only play eight players also.
DeSoto could have had twice as many players and it would have been doubtful if they could have stopped the potent Blue Streak offense as Gregory Smith III ran for three touchdown on the day.
Sebring went up 12-0 in the first quarter on Smith's first touchdown of the day, and Josiah Taylor stripped the ball from the DeSoto player and ran 30 yards for the touchdown.
Smith ripped off a 44-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to make it 18-0.
Jayden Garrett gave the Blue Streaks a 24-0 lead on a 12-yard touchdown run in the third quarter before Smith capped off the scoring for the day in the fourth quarter with a 30-yard scoring jaunt to complete the 32-0 romp.

Kavonte Jones put the Blue Streaks on the board in the first quarter on a 5-yard touchdown run and Sebring added a second touchdown in the second quarter as they went into the half with a 13-0 lead.
Elijah McGahee rounded out the scoring with an 18-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter as the Blue Streaks won the game 20-0.
The Sebring Junior team took a little longer to get started in their game against the Bulldogs.
DeSoto dominated play the first quarter as the Bulldogs used a large running back to methodically move the ball down the field.
Penalties hampered the drive as the Blue Streak defense stiffened.
Sebring got the ball and scored on an 8-yard touchdown run by Kamari Brown for a 7-0 lead.
Blue Streak quarterback, Devion Littles added to the lead in the third quarter with a 2-yard run up the middle to make it 13-0.
