ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — UCF didn't stay long the last time it crept into the national polls.
The Knights were ousted from the Top 25 in 2010 after just one week following a conference loss at home.
Now, fresh off an upset at Louisville last week, the 21st-ranked Knights (5-1, 2-0 American Athletic Conference) will try to avoid duplicating that letdown Saturday when they host winless Connecticut.
UCF coach George O'Leary says the best motivator this week may not be the 2010 loss, but the Knights' narrow victory at Memphis earlier this month.
The Huskies (0-6, 0-2) have shown flashes of toughness this year, including coming up short against Michigan in a 3-point loss.
They will need to score points, though, coming in averaging just 16.3 points per game.
